hooray, woodfire!

so the woodfired stuff was unloaded last weekend and i had nine pieces in it! only two of my pieces had anything tip onto them and the other seven look awesome. so heres a couple of my favorites, and a quick note, ignore the crappy green pot that is off to the side...:

woodfiring last weekend and more stuff

last weekend was a woodfiring which was super awesome but unfortunately i couldnt stick around the whole time. today i glazed 6 or so pots that will hopefully be in my portfolio. three of which i used ilya's green glaze for the reduction kiln, and the others i glazed for a traditional kiln. this week i've been working on a form similar to the last one i posted pictures of, however this one is a mug for tolley! sorry i didnt take pictures of it, but yeah. too bad. haha. anyways i'm excited to see how the woodfire stuff turned out because i put 9 pieces in that!

as for a picture this week i have and older piece that i made and woodfired that i'm most likely going to put in my portfolio!

more textures!!!

so this week i threw and trimmed 6 pieces so far. i added texture to one of the pieces i made this week and here as usual are some pictures!

i think this texture is pretty cool, and i may do this on a few of the other pieces from this batch.
on the flipside, i have some bad news this week, that earlier this week one of the pitchers i made last week (the one with the cracked texture) someone else broke the handle off =( and today when i was adjusting pots inside my cabnet, my pitcher with no texture and the small handle tipped over and the lip broke, as well as the handle =( so i'm glad amy made me throw 4!!!
i'll definitely be making more pitchers in the future, because they're pretty fun to make and they look really cool!

crunch time and more textures!

Well its crunch time now, i have a month left to make something around ten new pieces! woo! andyays i whish i could have been able to take pictures of the pieces that i threw yesterday and the day before, however i couldnt because my phone was dead... anywayssince i cant show you the vases i threw and the pitchers i began, i'll show you another texture that i've been looking at!

i think that this tuexture would fit my forms very well, because many of them have a similar shape to this particular vessel.

here's another texture i would like to try

this reminds me of nature due to the.. shell forms? protruding from the slip.
